BOSTON -- Monday night's game could very be Kevin Garnett's last at TD Garden, but the former Celtics star will be watching it from the bench.
Minnesota Timberwolves coach Sam Mitchell confirmed before the game that Garnett would not suit up against his old club.
Garnett played 10 minutes Sunday in a win over the Brooklyn Nets, and Mitchell does not play the 39-year-old big man in the second night of back-to-backs, regardless of opponent. He has sat out three such games already this season.
Garnett has played in 24 games for Minnesota, averaging career lows in minutes (15.5 per game), points (3.1) and rebounds (4.8). His two-year contract with the T-Wolves runs through the end of next season.
