It's apparently going to take a little more than a broken hand to slow down J.J. Watt.

The Houston Texans defensive end sat out practice Thursday with a cast on his left hand. After practice, Watt revealed to reporters that he broke his hand at practice Wednesday. However, Watt fully intends to play Sunday night against the New England Patriots.

Watt downplayed how much it would affect him, telling reporters he'll play through the pain.

Watt presumably will have the cast on his hand Sunday night, which means he'll have to make a quick adjustment on playing without one of his hands, as defensive coordinator Romeo Crennel pointed out.

The Texans defensive end is having another brilliant season. The reigning defensive MVP leads the league in sacks this season with 13 1/2, despite being held without one last Sunday in Buffalo. Watt's play is a big reason the Houston defense has come around, allowing just 13 points per game over the last five weeks.
