David Pastrnak appears one step closer to returning to the Boston Bruins.
The Bruins right wing, who missed the last 21 games with a fractured left foot, was assigned to Providence on Saturday. Pastrnak is expected to play Saturday night against the Springfield Falcons, and a decision on his availability for the Czech Republic in the World Junior Championship is expected "sometime thereafter."
Pastrnak had two goals and two assists in 10 games before missing significant time with a broken foot.
Left wing Alex Khokhlachev also was assigned to Providence.
