UFC president Dana White is from Manchester, Conn., so it shouldn't come as a surprise that he's a big New England Patriots fan. But does he think Rob Gronkowski, Bill Belichick and Tom Brady have what it takes to win inside the Octagon?
In a recent video for ESPN, White had to pick a winner in hypothetical UFC fights featuring prominent sports figures, three of which included Patriots.
Gronk was matched up with Houston Texans defensive end J.J. Watt in what certainly would be a heavyweight bout.
"Gronk is one of those guys who's running down the field and they've got the nastiest defensive players in the league — and he's shaking them off like they're playing Pop Warner," White said. "I'm going to go Gronk by KO."
White also picked Belichick in his hypothetical match against Buffalo Bills coach Rex Ryan, and he went Brady over Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton.
