The Boston Bruins' power play has been one of their biggest strengths so far this season. However, the first power-play unit didn't look like its usual self following Joel Ward's trip to the box in the first period Tuesday night against the San Jose Sharks.

But the second unit came through in the clutch. Brad Machand scored his sixth goal of the season on a rebound off of Zdeno Chara's initial shot, putting the Bruins up 2-1 at the time.
