Jonny Gomes really likes parades.
Gomes wasn't even on the Kansas City Royals' roster for the team's World Series run. But the popular outfielder didn't let that stop him from having a good time and making his presence felt Tuesday at the Royals' championship celebration.
Gomes, who totaled just 34 plate appearances in 12 games with the Royals after being acquired from the Atlanta Braves on Aug. 31, carried an American flag through the streets of Kansas City. Then, the 34-year-old delivered a speech on stage at the Royals' rally and capped it by dropping the microphone.
You might be asking yourself, "Why?" But that would mean you don't know Gomes. Because if you did, you'd know that such crazy behavior is the least surprising part of K.C. winning the World Series.
Gomes gonna Gomes.
