New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman became the latest fantasy football star to suffer a major injury when he hurt his foot Sunday against the New York Giants.

He's expected to miss the next six to eight weeks after undergoing foot surgery on Monday, which means if he returns it'll likely be in the NFL playoffs and not the regular season.

Edelman was having a fantastic season for fantasy owners. He's averaged almost 10 targets per game and already set a career high in receiving touchdowns with seven.
