BOSTON -- The Bruins made a roster move ahead of Tuesday's matchup with the Dallas Stars, recalling forward Alex Khokhlachev from the American Hockey League.

Khokhlachev has been a scoring machine for Providence this season, tying for first the AHL in both points (13) and assists (nine) through 10 games.

The 22-year-old has made brief cameos with the big club in each of the last two seasons, appearing in one game for the Bruins in 2013-14 and three last season. He's yet to record his first NHL point.

Absent from morning skate Tuesday was winger David Pastrnak. Khokhlachev skated in Pastrnak's usual second-line spot alongside left wing Loui Eriksson and center David Krejci, evidence that he likely will make his season debut against the Stars.

Pastrnak tallied three points (a goal and two assists) over the season's first two games but has recorded just one since. He logged a season-low 7:41 of ice time in Saturday's win over the Tampa Bay Lightning and did not record a shot on goal.
