The Boston Bruins hope to benefit from a bit of veteran leadership Saturday night.

The team recalled forward Max Talbot from Providence on an emergency basis Saturday morning, and he'll be available for the team's contest against the Toronto Maple Leafs at TD Garden.

Talbot was assigned to the team's American Hockey League affiliate on Nov. 9, but with forward Frank Vatrano still dealing with an upper body injury, Boston could use some added depth at wing.

"If I can play the best hockey I can play and show them that they can't take me out of the lineup, that's what I'm hoping I can do," Talbot told reporters Saturday.

NESN.com's Ashley Allen discusses Talbot's return, previews Saturday's showdown with the Maple Leafs and more in the Bruins Morning Skate Report, presented by Mercedes-Benz.
