The Boston Bruins, despite a slow start in the season's first week, have lately turned things around.

A pair of Bruins on Monday were recognized by the NHL for their play of late. B's forward Brad Marchand won the NHL's first star for the past week and center David Krejci won the third star for the month of October.

Marchand's been one of the NHL's best goal scorers in the last week, potting four gaols and adding a pair of assists. Unsurprisingly, the Bruins won all three of those games, and the pesky winger now has five goals and four assists through the first nine games of the season.

As good as Marchand's been lately and throughout the first month of the season, Krejci's been even better. Krejci's among the league leaders with 15 points through 10 games, with seven goals and eight assists. He's been deadly on the Bruins' league-leading power play, chipping in with 3-5-8 totals on the man-advantage.

The Bruins lost their first three games of the season, but they've gone 6-0-1 since then, including a current four-game winning streak, including a weekend sweep in Florida of the Panthers and Lightning.
