BOSTON -- The Bruins will be down a defenseman Saturday as they host the Detroit Red Wings.
Rookie Colin Miller was ruled out for the game as he deals with a lower body injury, head coach Claude Julien told reporters after the Bruins' morning skate at TD Garden.
"I think it's more being cautious," Julien said, via BostonBruins.com. "He is injured, but being cautious. I think in certain situations he could have played."
Miller was the only Bruins player not present at practice Friday, and according to the team's projected lineup, Zach Trotman will take his spot and skate alongside Dennis Seidenberg. Joe Morrow will remain a healthy scratch.
Trotman has appeared in just three games this season and has yet to record a point.
