Rich Hill pitched well again for Boston on Thursday despite the Red Sox's 4-1 loss to the New York Yankees.
The left-hander allowed two earned runs on four hits and three walks while striking out six over six innings. Hill once again made his best case for sticking around in Boston.
"Well a lot of that is out of my control," interim manager Torey Lovullo said on "Red Sox Final" after Thursday's game. "I know that we've had a lot of very positive discussions internally about Rich Hill. And he's done just about everything and then some to put himself in a very good position."
