Courtroom sketch of New England Patriots quarterback Tom BradyThe fact that the NFL launched a multi-million-dollar investigation over air pressure in footballs is absurd on its own, but believe it or not, there actually were crazier moments from Deflategate.

The saga kicked off after the New England Patriots blew out the Indianapolis Colts in the 2014 AFC Championship Game, and it was found that the Patriots were using under-inflated footballs. And from there, things got weird.

There were plenty of Deflategate hot takes, but none were more outrageous than former Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Mark Brunell's, as he cried on live television over the idea that the Patriots might have cheated. The Patriots themselves also provided some over-the-top moments, with quarterback Tom Brady and head coach Bill Belichick both adding some interesting quotes to the mix.

It got stranger when Brady appealed his four-game suspension, too, as is evidenced by that, um, inaccurate courtroom sketch of the QB.
