Raffi Torres has learned his fate from the NHL.

The San Jose Sharks forward was suspended 41 games without pay for his hit on Anaheim Ducks forward Jakob Silfverberg during a preseason game Saturday. He will be suspended without pay for interference and an illegal check to the head.

The NHL's Department of Player Safety announced the penalty Monday, along with a video explanation, which you can watch below.

This is hardly the first time Torres has gotten in trouble. He previously was suspended four times, fined three times and warned twice, mostly for hits to the head.

Torres also will have to forfeit $440,860.29, which will go to the Players' Emergency Assistance Fund.
