FOXBORO, Mass. -- The New England Patriots finally added a fullback Wednesday, filling out their 10-man practice squad.
The Patriots added fullback Joey Iosefa to their practice squad Wednesday, according to a source. Iosefa was selected in the seventh round of the 2015 NFL Draft by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and was cut Sept. 1.
The 6-foot, 247-pound Hawaii product had 512 carries for 2,218 yards and 21 touchdowns in four college seasons. He also caught 60 passes for 438 yards with three scores.
He ran a 4.80-second 40-yard dash at his pro day in March with a 7.09-second 3-cone, 4.28-second short shuttle, 32.5-inch vertical leap and 9-foot, 4-inch broad jump. He put up 30 reps on the bench press at the NFL Scouting Combine.
The Patriots didn't sign a fullback after starter James Develin suffered a broken leg in their final preseason game and was placed on injured reserve. They've used guard Shaq Mason as a fullback in short-yardage situations.
Here is the Patriots' full practice squad:
