FOXBORO, Mass. -- New England Patriots playmakers Rob Gronkowski and Dion Lewis look like polar opposites on the football field.
Gronkowski is a hulking 6-foot-6, 265-pound tight end who's usually too powerful to be brought down by an initial defender.
Lewis is a diminutive 5-foot-8, 195-pound running back who makes would-be tacklers miss with his shifty footwork and sudden burst.
They had a lot in common Thursday night, however, when together they plagued the Miami Dolphins in the Patriots' 36-7 win. Gronkowski had six catches for 113 yards with a touchdown, while Lewis had 11 total touches for 122 yards and a touchdown while coming off an abdomen injury.
Gronkowski received a much better analogy from Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman, however.
"I've said it before: it looks like an eighth grader going against second graders out there, when guys are trying to bring him down," Edelman said. "He never goes down with one guy. He's just a beast, you know?"
Edelman was asked for a similar analogy for Lewis.
"Dion's like a really short eighth grader going against really big fifth graders," Edelman said. "He's like the manchild. You know the kid who was really quick, but was short, I don't know. I'm stumped on the metaphors."
Edelman's night wasn't too shabby either, save for his description of Lewis. The wide receiver had seven catches for 81 yards with two touchdowns and plays like the really good, but still slightly small, sixth grader who was elevated to the middle school team.
Quarterback Tom Brady? He's the dad picking apart of defense full of toddlers. Brady completed 26 of 38 passes for 356 yards with four touchdowns and no interceptions.
