The New England Patriots continued to update their free-agent Rolodex on Monday by working out three defensive tackles, according to a source.

The Patriots hosted Kenrick Ellis, Toby Johnson and Ishmaa-ily Kitchen. Hampton was drafted by the New York Jets in the third round of the 2011 NFL Draft. He started five games in four seasons with the Jets, recording 53 tackles and one sack.

Ellis signed a one-year deal with the New York Giants on March 18 but was cut Sept. 5.

Johnson went undrafted out of Georgia before signing with the Tennessee Titans. He signed to the Jacksonville Jaguars practice squad after the summer but was cut last Tuesday.

Kitchen went undrafted out of Kent State in 2012. He's spent time with the Baltimore Ravens and Cleveland Browns. In three seasons with the Browns, he recorded 78 tackles, starting three games in 2014. Patriots assistant to the coaching staff Michael Lombardi served as Browns general manager while Kitchen was on the team.
