The Boston Red Sox are changing their outfield plans.
Outfielder Rusney Castillo is out of the Red Sox's lineup for a third consecutive game Wednesday with a strained right quad. That means Brock Holt will play in right.
"The area is just showing some tenderness and some soreness," interim manager Torey Lovullo said of Castillo's injury on "Red Sox Gameday Live" before Wednesday's game between Boston and the New York Yankees. "We want to get ahead of it and we are almost there.
"Unfortunately it's changed the plans that we had laid down for the outfielders, but we'll continue to do what we've been doing the past couple of days and then see where Rusney is tomorrow."
