The New York Yankees will reach 10,000 franchise wins with their next victory, but the Boston Red Sox sure aren't making it easy for their rival.

The Red Sox have won the first two games of a four-game set against the Yankees as they continue to play spoiler down the stretch.

"We are aware of that milestone they're about to reach," interim manager Torey Lovullo said on "Red Sox First Pitch" on Wednesday. "It's going to happen at some point, we just hope it doesn't happen while we're here.

"As we talked about before coming into town, we wanted to play good baseball, and we wanted to play our brand of baseball and make it as hard as we possibly could for the New York Yankees as we were doing during the past month and a half against all our opponents."
