Consider Eduardo Rodriguez's first season in the majors a success. He is.
Rodriguez spoke with reporters in New York after the Boston Red Sox's 5-1 win over the New York Yankees on Monday. It was the rookie left-hander's final start of the 2015 season.
His seven-inning, one-run performance improved his record to 10-6 and lowered his ERA to 3.85. It also gave him an even 170 innings pitched on the year -- his most ever in a professional season.
When asked for his evaluation of his season, he conceded it was "way better" than he expected it to be.
