It was a tough weekend for NFL quarterbacks -- and fantasy football owners.

NFL Media's Ian Rapoport reported Monday that New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees suffered a shoulder injury in Sunday's 26-19 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Initial reports don't look promising for Week 3.

The Saints reportedly offered no comment, according to the New Orleans Times-Picayune, but Brees admitted Sunday his shoulder was bothering him on a few throws.

"Maybe on a few throws," Brees told the Times-Picayune. "I want to say a few balls downfield didn't come out very well."

ESPN's Ed Werder had more information on Brees' time table.

There is no timetable for Brees' return, and with the Saints declining comment, his status going forward is uncertain. Backup QB Luke McCown would be the starter if Brees is unable to go, but he's not a viable starter in any fantasy formats.
