Craig Breslow is pretty excited -- and he should be.
The 35-year-old Boston Red Sox relief pitcher is making his first career start Saturday, which will be his 523rd major league appearance. His start is the longest stretch of games played before a start since former Los Angeles Angels great Troy Percival (639 games) did it.
When Breslow takes the mound, he'll be the oldest Red Sox pitcher to make his first career start since Scott Atchison and the oldest MLB player overall since 1990.
NESN's Guerin Austin sat down with Breslow before the historic start, as seen on "Red Sox First Pitch." Check it out in the video above.
