Donald Trump has been a vocal supporter of New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady as he deals with the fallout from Deflategate.

The Republican presidential candidate was in Massachusetts on Friday, where he once again voiced his support for Brady, who was playing in the Patriots' 17-16 preseason win over the Carolina Panthers.

"Leave Tom Brady alone. ... (Brady) is a champion and a winner. Leave him alone," Trump said.

Trump recently ruffled some feathers recently when he called Boston Mayor Marty Walsh a "clown." But when he was asked about that statement, he took the chance to talk about Brady once again.

"I really don't know Marty Walsh," Trump said Friday night. "I do know Tom Brady, who's great."
