WINNIPEG -- While it isn't officially spring yet, it sure feels like it in Winnipeg this weekend.

Temperatures reached a high of 10 C on Saturday with largely sunny skies. It is the warmest March 12 on record, breaking the previous record of 9.5 C set in 2012.

Winnipeggers should consider themselves lucky as the average high for March 12 is -3 C.

According to Environment Canada, the sunny, warm days should stretch into Sunday, with a high of 10 C forecast and rising up to a high of 13 C to start the week on Monday.

Several Winnipeg landmarks are opening this weekend including Shooter's Family Golf Centre and the popular ice cream shop, the Brideg Drive-In are both opening their doors.
